Upon close inspection, the rear latch was loose and hence the reason why it didn&#8217;t close. That&#8217;s where I got stuck. I had no clue on how I was going to remove the panel. After some researching on different forums, reading manuals, and asking Google for help, in the end I couldn&#8217;t find anything. So I decided to use the &#8220;trial and error&#8221; method and I managed to work it out so I decided to blog about it in case I forget how to remove it as I&#8217;m sure I will probably have to do this again. NOTE: I&#8217;m not really a car person, so maybe some of the wording I&#8217;ve used is not correct. Apologies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Symptoms<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Boot Door wouldn&#8217;t close unless excessive force was used &#8211; I knew this wasn&#8217;t a good sign<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; When driving and going over bumps, it sounded like the door was about to open<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tools<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Flat head screwdriver (I won&#8217;t include a picture here since most people know what this is)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; H6 head bit<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.businesslegions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/h6-head-Medium.png?strip=all&w=2560\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.businesslegions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/h6-head-Medium-300x201.png?strip=all\" alt=\"h6 head (Medium)\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 10mm head socket<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.businesslegions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/10mm-head-socket-Medium.png?strip=all&w=2560\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.businesslegions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/10mm-head-socket-Medium-300x218.png?strip=all\" alt=\"10mm head socket (Medium)\" width=\"300\" height=\"218\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The first thing to do is to remove two screws. These are located where the handle is (right hand side). You will then need to use the 10 mm head socket to remove the screw. The cover uses clips so you should hear it un-clip. Then keep moving along to the other edge and remove the bottom part of the molded cover. You should be able to see the rear hatch latch. Inspect the latch and screws. I didn&#8217;t even have to take the whole molded cover out. Once that was done, push the molded cover back and you will hear a few clicks. Then screw the two handle screws and place the cover on top.<\/p>\n<p>Test and viola!!!
