Site Title<\/h3>\n

– Avoid duplicate words in the site title. This particular site had the same word duplicated which makes it look too spammy.<\/p>\n

– Include the search keywords you’re focusing in the site title<\/p>\n

– Don’t make the title too long. Google will cut it off at around 62 characters.<\/p>\n

SEO Plugin<\/h3>\n

The website was using All In One. I decided to switch to Yoast SEO. I did not use the XML Sitemap feature from this plugin so it was disabled.<\/p>\n

After installing Yoast, I decided to go through each post and page and update the SEO meta tags. This process took almost a day but it was worth it. I made sure the SEO status for each post was green or yellow.<\/p>\n

PLUGIN UPDATES<\/h3>\n

Updated each plugin to make sure it was the latest – I don’t think this makes a difference to SEO but just thought I’d mention it here.<\/p>\n

So those were the main changes applied to the website and after a week I was able to see some results.<\/p>\n

NOTE: I’ve said this a few times on this blog that I’m not a SEO expert. I just apply changes and monitor the results. It may or may not work for you.<\/em><\/p>\n
