Today, I needed to go into my Google+ Photos to retrieve an old photo I took earlier this year. When I went into Google+ I couldn’t find the Photos button which is generally located somewhere on this list:<\/p>\n

Heck, I couldn’t find it anywhere. That’s when I threw in the towel and decided to just ask Google and came across this article:<\/p>\n

Say what? It’s no longer there? I saw no link…. not that I can recall. It’s now just called Google Photos (without the +). That’s just confusing!<\/p>\n

Anyways after going to http:\/\/photos.google.com<\/a>\u00a0all my photos were there… phew!<\/p>\n

I then found the photo I was looking for. At the same time I decided to add a shortcut to my Gmail Apps menu.<\/p>\n

ADD GOOGLE PHOTOS TO GMAIL APPS MENU<\/h2>\n

Some of you may already have this on your menu but in my case I didn’t. Just follow these steps.<\/p>\n

Click on the Apps Menu button<\/p>\n

You will see that Google Photos is not on the list.<\/p>\n

Click on More<\/p>\n

\"Google<\/a><\/p>\n

You will see the Photos icon.<\/p>\n

\"Google<\/a><\/p>\n

Use your mouse and hold onto the Photo icon and drag it to the top. Done. Now it will be easier to find.<\/p>\n

I also checked my Android phone to see if it was using the Google Photos app\u00a0and it was installed. Must have been part of the Google Play updates. I also checked the the Backup and Sync settings and it was set to ‘Original Quality’ meaning that it was using up my Google Drive space. I changed this to High Quality (free unlimited storage) so that I can use as a backup. You can go to your app and change it in there or you can go to\u00a0https:\/\/photos.google.com\/settings<\/a> and change it there. Just a note to always check for this setting when you do an update of the app. If you want to save space on your Google Drive, make sure to use High Quality.<\/p>\n
