Business Legions Facebook Feed – schedule

I’m no expert in this area but I’ve recently reliased there’s a few simple ways to increase the number of views for your Facebook post. I have analysed my own Facebook pages analytics information and noticed a pattern, so I thought I’d share a few points with you:

1. Best time to write and publish an update – for many of us who work late, we tend to update content on our websites at weird hours of the night. This could be a bad thing. If you think about the way Facebook displays the posts on the news feed it’s newest to oldest. So once you publish a Facebook post, it automatically gets distributed to your followers or people who have liked your page and If you post them in the middle of the night, the majority of your friends or followers are actually in bed sleeping. This means when they check their Facebook feed in the morning, your update will not be seen. So the idea is to capture your audience whilst they are in reach of their phones.

So when is the best time to publish your Facebook post? I’m only speculating here but here’s what I believe:

In the morning at around 7-9am. Generally, most people would check their phones when they wake up in the morning or are travelling to work.

12-1pm – when most people are at lunch. Who doesn’t eat and check their phones.

7-9pm – At dinner and before they go to bed.

2. Build a strong network – you need to get your friends or committed followers who will share and like your posts. Increasing the number of likes bumps up your post on other peoples Facebook feeds.

3. Like Karma – like other people posts as you never know, they may like yours back.

4. Schedule your post – I’m not sure how many people actually use this but there was obviously a reason for facebook to add this feature. Read point 1 for the reason behind this. If you use WordPress you can also schedule when your posts are published so make sure you use this feature.

NOTE: If you’re targeting an audience in another country, make sure that you use their local time.

Give this a try and see whether you notice any increase in Facebook post views by following the above steps. Let me know how you go.
