I’m a big fan of open source tool and have used a disk imaging tool called Clonezilla for many years. This tool does the same job as TrueImage and Ghost but it’s free. It doesn’t have a GUI but it does have a wizard which is quite easy to follow.
Today, I discovered something unusual. I decided to clean up my portable hard drive and rearrange and group the Clonezilla images into folders. Then when I tried restoring an image from the hard drive, Clonezilla couldn’t detect the folder name.
After a bit of investigation I worked out that Clonezilla is unable to read folders with a space in the name so I just ended up renaming the folder with an _ (underscore) instead of a space.
Hope this has helped others too.
