Ever had an issue with not being able to change the channels, or volume or when you press a button on the remote control and it’s not working? Don’t know whether it’s the remote control or the TV that is not working? One way to test and check to see which device is the problem is to use the buttons on the TV and if that works then you know it’s possible the remote control could be the problem.

Another way to test if the TV remote control or any other infra red remote control (radio, stereo, air conditioner) is to check if there is a flashing light on the infra red transmitter which is located at the top of the remote control. You can also use these tests for digital signage screens that use infrared to transmit the signals for digital signage.

You can watch this video to show you how to do the test on the TV remote control. HOW TO TEST A REMOTE CONTROL TV IS WORKING

This is a quick and easy way to test if your remote is working properly. Simply look for a flashing light on the infrared transmitter. If you see a light, then your remote is working as it should. If not, then there may be an issue with the remote. There are a few things that can cause a remote to stop working properly. If you are having issues with your remote, be sure to check the following:

– batteries: over time, batteries will lose their charge and will need to be replaced. If your remote is not working, ensure that the batteries are not dead.
– obstructions: if there is something blocking the infrared transmitter on the remote, then the signals will not be able to reach the TV. Be sure to check for any obstructions and remove them if necessary.
– distance: the further away you are from the TV, the weaker the signal will be. Make sure you are close enough to the TV for the signal to be strong enough.

If you have checked all of these things and your remote still is not working, then there may be an issue with the remote itself. You may need to replace it
or you can open the remote control to see if there is anything wrong with the connectors or if there’s some corrosion. Here’s an example of opening an air conditioner remote control and fixing the issue by replacing one of the corroded wires:
