NFC Tags under a microscope

NFC tags are now becoming more popular. NFC stands for Near field communication and it is a new technology which allows small data transfers between two NFC enabled devices.

NFC tags can be stickers or wristbands but are now becoming a standard technology in mobile phones. Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy S3/S4/S5 have NFC and now the new Apple iPhone 6 also comes with NFC. They serve many purposes like making payments, data transfers (files, images) and are can even be used to trigger events.
I purchased some NFC tags from ebay so I could use for testing and decided to put them under a microscope and zoom in at 10x and 230x.

Here’s a few photos under the microscope. It looks a bit weird but you can see some of the silver lines. The black rectangular area I’m assuming is where the data is stored.
