Recovery of a Bricked Samsung S GT9000i
April 11, 2014 / by Marco / Categories : Technology
So a friend of my tried upgrading rooting a borrowed Samsung S GT9000i. They somehow ended up bricking it… well technically it wasn’t. Initially the phone didn’t even turn on even when it was fully charged. So what I ended up doing is taking the battery out and left it out for about an hour or two. Then put it back in and tried going into recovery mode and it worked. Once in recovery mode I followed these steps:
Download this file:Original Firmware with Partitioning: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B67As4gsEH4XODdZSnhMMGtaUEU
If you can’t find it let me know and I’ll check if I still have it.
– Extract the files in the rar image.
– Start Odin
– Reboot phone into Download mode (Volume Down, Home and Power button)
– Select PIT file as ‘s1_odin_20100513.pit’
– Select PDA file as ‘PDA_DXJV9_Deodexed_Zipaligned.tar’
– Select PHONE file as ‘PHONE_DXJV9.tar’
– Select CSC file as ‘CSC_OLBJV9.tar’
– Then under Options: Check Re-partition, Check Auto Reboot and Check F. Reset Time
– Start the phone in the download mode
-Once ID:COM/phone is ‘Added!!’ This should be green click Start
– There will be a lot of red text after the flash is done
– Go into Recovery mode by pressing Volume UP, Home and Power and select ‘wipe data/factory reset’
– Reboot the device when done. This should hopefully work.
