DO THESE 3 THINGS TO BOOST WORKPLACE PRODUCTIVITY
March 28, 2019 / by Marco / Categories : Business, Technology
In the workplace, numerous activities take place regularly. It includes anything from sending invoices to having group strategy sessions. It is also important to note that every office operates in its own unique ways and has different priorities.
With that in mind, you want to make sure your employees are getting as much done as possible daily. It’s possible to do this without burning your employees out and pushing them beyond their limit. Here are three things that you can do if your primary objective is to boost workplace productivity.
Meet Employee Needs
In order to boost productivity in the workplace, you first need to raise the morale of employees. When you meet their needs, you’re more likely to get a better performance from them. Below are a few fundamental needs that you may want to address:
- Psychological: One of the first needs that you should try to meet is their psychological ones. You can do so by helping them with work-life balance and giving them enough time to engage in things outside of work. Some employees offer flexible working hours and working from home a few days a week. See what your employees need for balance and how you can meet them halfway at least.
- Interconnectedness: Employees also need to feel a sense of connectedness and belonging. You can help with this by often communicating, keeping them in the loop and having an open door policy. Make them feel as though they can easily communicate with you and share any concerns or challenges they’re having.
- Competence: These days, one of the things people want is to feel satisfied at work. You can accomplish this when your team feels competent and like they’re growing in their role. Giving them more responsibility and trusting them to get the job done could help in this respect.
Ensure They Have Office Supplies
Office supplies may seem like a small thing when it comes to boosting productivity, but you’d be surprised how much a lack thereof could set your business back. Supplies often help your workforce carry out mundane tasks that support bigger goals and objectives. You should, therefore, purchase them in bulk and be sure you have enough to last a couple of months if possible. Some supplies you could get are pens, files, dividers, paper clips, staples and printing paper. If you have a Brother printer in your office, then also order a good supply of Brother printer toner online.

Update Technology
Aside from the mentioned, technology is another must if you want to improve productivity. Many tools and software have been created for this purpose, so make use of them. Some tools can be used for time tracking, automating the recruitment process, and making payroll a quicker process. The more you automate and the more effective your technology, the better results you’re likely to get at the end of it all. You should also note that there are many free tools out there which are perfect for a small business with a limited budget.
