Linkedin adding new media problem
May 24, 2015 / by Marco / Categories : Technology
I reported a problem to Linkedin a few weeks ago about not being able to add media item to the first 3 positions in the Experience section of my profile. I tried to explain clearly what the issue was and even provided screenshots. Basically when I edit my profile and go to one of the first 3 job positions, I don’t get the buttons to add the media items like the ones below:
I am able to do it to the 4th and 5th jobs (probably because they currently don’t have any media) but for the first 3 I cannot. If I move my mouse over any existing media to click on the pencil button to edit or delete the media it doesn’t work.
So I sent a support ticket with Linkedin and it’s still open. Today, I managed to figure out how temporarily solve the issues – it was by pure accident. Here’s the steps:
Use Firefox – for some reason clicking on some of the buttons didn’t work with Chrome.
Then hover your mouse over the experience heading (not sure why it’s hidden in in Firefox. ). You will see some extra buttons. Click on the box+ icon
Then this will give you the option to add media to the different positions. Make sure you select the correct position before clicking on Continue.
Editing the media items also worked when using Firefox.
